1. What did you find confusing, convicting, or encouraging from this study of Scripture?
2. What mistakes might we make as individuals and as a church community if we forget that our overarching purpose is the glory of God.
3. How are you participating in our mission of reaching the lost? What lost person can you resolve to pray for and reach out to this year?
4. How are you helping others in our church family to grow as followers of Jesus? Who is helping you to grow as a disciple?
5. Why is it important to trust that the proclamation of the Scripture and prayer are God’s planned means of working in our lives?

Why Community? – Acts 2:37-47  Because God’s plan has always been to create a community of people for Himself.  Because there is safety in the community of God’s people.   Because the community of God’s people shows the beauty of God to the world.   Questions for Discussion & Application

6. What examples have you noticed of God’s beauty being seen through our own church community?

6. As a young person, how do I need God’s grace to better honor and obey my parents?

2. How can you relate to Israel’s seemingly impossible situation?
3. God has promised that people from every tribe will be saved and be present around Jesus’ throne in heaven (Revelation 7). What are the obstacles that can make this feel impossible?
4. Do you ever struggle to trust the faithfulness of God? What has helped you to continue trusting Him?
5. We express our trust in the faithfulness of God through prayer and obedience? How have you experienced this to be true in your own life?
6. Why is Jesus the greatest expression of God’s faithfulness?

Questions: What was confusing, convicting, or encouraging from this study of Scripture?   How often are you aware that you are in a continual spiritual battle?   Jesus is fully God and fully man, which of those is harder for you to comprehend?   Gethsemane literally means olive press. Jesus was pressed all the way to death for our sin. His suffering brought us our salvation. Does this change the way that you view your suffering and hardships? Do you see them as tools in God’s hands to produce more genuine faith in your life (1 Peter 1:6-7)?   Read Hebrews 4:14-16—Does it help you to know that Jesus is a high priest who understands your weaknesses? Does it help you in your daily walk with God to know that Jesus experienced the full depth of human agony? Does Jesus’ night in Gethsemane shape the way you cry out to God when life gets difficult?   Though he did not need them, Jesus invited the disciples to join his mission. God doesn’t need us either, but he invites us to be on mission with him. How does it affect you to know that God wants you to join him in his work to see people live with Christ as Lord?
